Really, my @Youtube experience would improve exponentially if I could do even one of two things
1. Turn off “Recommended for you”
2. Block channels so they don’t show up in searches or feeds

You can do the latter in the YouTube app on the iPhone. It’ll translate to what you see on other platforms, but the actual button only exists on iPhone. Not on iPad, Android, or web. Here’s a screenshot. Don’t recommend channel: iPhone-exclusive. No clue why.pic.twitter.com/PI7y8cQB4V

I have done so MANY MANY TIMES. Somehow that video keeps popping back up, and videos like it. I don’t know why it doesn’t work permanently and I don’t just want it to stop being recommended, ideally I could stop seeing it altogether. I could use
@youtube in security again.1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes -
Definitely would be nice. The button is ‘exact words’: it only applies to that specific channel, and only keeps it out of the ‘recommended for you’ section, not out of topic pages or the sidebar on videos you do watch. Better than nothing, which is what ‘not interested’ is.

Ideally I could block toxic channels and then not see them in searches, and they wouldn’t be able to see me. It would make the platform much much safer and more pleasant to use.
@TeamYoutube why can’t we have this?1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes
That’s odd. It seemed to have worked for a certain review channel and one of its peers after clicking it a few times. Definitely took a while but finally not seeing them.
