Aeolian processes are active across Mars and dune migration has been observed in 25 cm/px HiRISE images over the last decade. Here, we've shown that migration can also be observed used lower resolution 6 m/px CTX data.pic.twitter.com/FThnKN5hXp

Dunes are on Mars are pretty slow. They are typically moving at ~ 1 m/yr and that's quite difficult to spot in 6m/px CTX. However, we now have over a decade of data and can monitor both supra-pixel and sub-pixel changes in CTX.

One of the useful things about using CTX data to monitor dunes is the large image footprint, which gives us scope to investigate changes across the dune field, complimenting previous work which used HiRISE.
