So the TSA can’t do their job while avoiding needlessly damaging peoples property?

I don't think there's an issue with being more worried about your life than your belongings, but I also don't think this means we should just accept that TSA might break our important equipment. Just because they're insuring a safe flight doesn't mean they can't do better.

If only they had a 7.78 billion annual budget to buy things that non destructively examine packages and luggage. Oh well.
