Which is why our future Ag Policy should be developed around producing maximum amount of food in our own country for our own people and only import what we can’t produce. Such a policy would ‘tick’ all the required boxes.

Not 100% sure, but I think most of the cattle in Australia that get hormones are the bos-indicus breeds, mostly in the tropical north. Also known as yak, it is well known to be inferior quality, so most Australians don't eat it. Why would we want it when we can produce better?
