He certainly was not blaming Russia for Epstein's death. I believe his point might have been what happened to Epstein would be typical in Russia. Trump loves Putin and is a "wannabe" dictator. Being flip he wasn't saying Russia did anything.

Fun fact. A few years ago, I was in a Starbucks in NC. Guy in front of me had Olympic rings tattoo. Of course, I had to ask. It was Doug Collins! I had no idea who he was. He told me the whole story. Nicest guy you’ll ever meet.
