Yeah, I was a Republican for years, too. Sarah Palin and her ilk drove me out. I don't see myself pulling the GOP lever for at least a generation till they burn the house down and rebuild from scratch.

Do you think that's possible? Where does all this anger and hate go? I'm a dem, but I enjoy policy debates. I'd like a fully functioning Republican party to hold my party in check. I have no reason to believe anything sincere can come from today's Rs though.

I would love to have back a more sane Republican party, but I doubt I'll see it in my lifetime. When the GOP nominated Trump my hope was that he'd lose spectacularly, there would be a civil within the party, and something positive would emerge from the ashes. So much for that...
