    The words Frederick Douglass offered regarding Abraham Lincoln gives me chills as I listen to them read 155 years later. Lincoln’s genius was in skillfully dragging a recalcitrant and racist country out of the mud and then laying the foundation of a more perfect union.

    On April 14, 1865, Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth. He died the next day at 7:22 am. In his speech at Lincoln’s funeral, Frederick Douglass offered both high praise and sharp criticism of the late president's legacy.

    I think about these two and a half pages from Norm Macdonald’s book constantly. When I reviewed it, I wrote that they would “make for a fine eulogy”—and I swear I didn’t mean anything by it. But they do.

    The number you'll see for will be 45%—but that's of votes cast on Question 2, which almost half the electorate left blank. He's got only 24.6% of the total votes cast, compared to 65% for remaining governor. That's a bloodbath, worse even than Cox in 2018
