I don't really like clubs in the UK as they tend to be a bit rowdy. But when i was living in Amsterdam i used to love them for the music, dancing and as a way of meeting new friends in a city i didn't know (I actually also met my wife in a club on halloween!).
It's definitely a bit hit & miss though, a few bad experiences have mostly turned me off of anything other than a quiet pub with a few friends outside of rare occassions.
That's fascinating. It sounds like those quiet kinds of bars/pubs wouldn't have as many spikers in them either due to the cozy "everyone knows your name" atmosphere. Thanks for the perspective. Our bars just sucked. Except for biker bars. Bikers love me for some reason.
I mean both my parents were bikers but they were hobbyist 99%er bikers. Y'know, they liked harleys and meeting people and that was about it. No memberships or anything. Maybe bikers can smell the connection in my blood :P
