On High Court sightlink for another case & prior to that is making a bail application. Have to say, absolutely wonderful submissions & love how he aggressively takes no nonsense from the Crown. “The High Court is the last line of defence” - Top Class 👏

A human chain of community workers stood on the Springfield Road last night to prevent rioters reaching the Lanark Way interface. They also cleared debris from the road

These loyalist commanders, who had been duped by the DUP into believing the GAA was “the IRA at play”, drilling our young people on Saturday mornings like the North Korean military, were in the Hogan Stand, open-mouthed at the exploits of Shefflin & Walsh.

News and images of loyalist riots belie the progress made by both traditions in creating a stable society in the North that is appalled at the violence stirred up by Arlene Foster’s rhetoric writes

Interesting piece by Gene Kerrigan in today’s on the sterile, sugary, patronising culture that now pervades RTE’s output. “A permanent Sesame Street version of news & current affairs is plain dangerous.”

One of the hidden gems of the GAA family and one of the most beautiful, hospitable places on earth. Help this wonderful small club if you can , also the home of Packie’s Bar where they haven’t seen a Garda for 20 years

Arlene blames the riots on “the huge frustration of many of our young people” over the decision not to prosecute SF. As though 13yr olds in Tiger’s Bay dissected Queen’s Counsel’s opinion before concluding the chief constable was a republican sympathiser

The DUP formula of stirring up deprived Protestant areas for their own ends used to rouse hundreds of thousands (eg in the wake of the Anglo Irish Agreement & the Peace Agreement). Now it is a few hundred kids. A most cruel exploitation of our young folk

Sandy Row this morning. Relaxed and normal. People sitting out on deck chairs & going about their lives. There is no war in Belfast & no danger of it. It is a peaceful and good city moving in the right direction. Transformed in the past 20 years.

Vast disconnect between the front pages & what is actually happening in Belfast. I drove the city yesterday & all is normal. This is half a mile from Sandy Row.
