We know the mechanism of action for vaccines. We have hundreds of years of observation that vaccination works, way back to milkmaids in 18th century England who seemed to never get smallpox. The idea that it's a "superstition" is absurd and contrary to history.

Take Rabies for example. Is it just a coincidence that >99% of those that get the vaccine after exposure live and >99% of those that don't die? It's one of the few vaccines that work after exposure to the virus.
