Today’s one month since my surgery to remove cancerous neuroendocrine tumors. After 10 days in the hospital in Houston I got home to San Antonio to recover. Thank you to everyone — friends, strangers and even some folks who can’t stand my politics — who’ve reached out. #NETs

I’m especially grateful to my family for being so supportive and understanding. And to my doctors and nurses for helping me recover after the surgery. I still have a ways to go but I’m getting there. Finally, thanks to my amazing staff! I’ll be back on the job in DC in mid-April.

What stood out from the Nashville Press conference was their response time. Calls came in at 10:15am, shooter was dead by 10:27am. Impossible not to think of Uvalde… 78 minutes until the gunman was confronted. The contrast of how differently this was handled is stark.
