Pretty much nailed it on why he irks me so much. Empty platitudes that make no sense.

  6. The good news: In my state (Washington) it is always the urban areas that are the last to be counted. My prediction: Sanders 14 Buttigieg 6 Warren 4 Inexplicably 🙄, the real results won’t be announced until after New Hampshire voters have voted.

  7. The fire department doesn’t ask for your insurance before deciding whether to come save your house. It doesn’t send you a bill, either.

Compromise is great if it doesn't involve sacrificing integrity or putting vulnerable people in harm's way. But if you go into fight asking for only 50% of what you really want, how much can you actually get? 25%? Why not ask for everything and end up with as much as possible?

A public option that doesn't leave anyone behind but maintains private insurers would cost *more* than because you'd have to pay providers and hospitals *AND* pay billions to insurance companies. A good thread on public options:

This is the richest country! There shouldn't be SOME PEOPLE who get left behind. Other countries have figured it out--and not just the European ones either. People from Botswana and the Philippines have recently commented on threads to tell me they have better healthcare systems.

I've been through the white paper twice. It's heavy on platitudes and light on facts. There's no real mention of how much care would cost someone beyond their premiums. Just nebulous terms like "spending caps" and "gold coverage" as if private insurers wouldn't water that down.

  15. We are not going to waste another 40 years testing trickle-down economics, which have devastated America's working class. The time is long overdue for the rich to start paying their damn taxes.

The vote tally “screw-up” not only deprived our campaign of a victory night speech to spur additional momentum, it also deprived the campaign of an opportunity to collect big donations. Don’t let the Party succeed. Donate!

My years in public life have taught me that power concedes nothing w/o struggle. The gravity of that struggle always falls on working people. When those in power set the boundary of what is respectable, they limit our progress. They are nervous bc we can win.
