    Yesterday, 58 labs in Korea completed 9424 COVID-19 real time PCR for 6432 patients. (Cumulative: almost 40000) Hospital labs and commercial lab centers only. The tests performed by 18 public health lab are not included.

    At present, there are two commercially available real-time PCR kits in Korea. They have been authorized by Korea’s FDA for emergency use. Kogene biotech, Seegene (approval date, 2/7 and 2/11 respectively). Almost 40000 tests have been performed using these two kits in Korea.

    WHO indeed declares a pandemic. Important to explain that choice of control measures depends on predictions of how fast and wide it will spread (peak) and how severe the disease is. We will see lots of modelling predictions that need to learn from studies eg in italy
