This NSW auditor general's report is damning and backs up my extensive reporting on biodiversity offsets. Hope others follow it up as it's really important, including in the context of federal plans to create a biodiversity market.

Moreton Bay Figs ftw, but especially the one in Newtown cemetery where I staged many a gothy photoshoot with my high school friends at the turn of the century (no pics)

IN 4TH PLACE it's a huge QLD favourite, the Moreton Bay fig: Ficus macrophylla #DYK this magnificent tree can grow as a stem from the ground OR as a parasitic 'strangler' like its cousin, Ficus virens? It's also the highest polling non-eucalypt: all gum from here! #AusFaveTree

Scrapping the stage three tax cuts would save $243bn. This could provide adequate funding for public schools, raise the Jobseeker rate, or pay for nuclear submarines. How would you spend it? collab w/ @AmyRemeikis theguardian.com/australia-news

I sadly can't get a script for the pill anymore because I get aura migraines. But you know what else blunts your 'drive to succeed' (however the hell you can define that) - intense regular period pain and PMS. Also, I imagine, being heavily pregnant or having a newborn.

'[His] lack of contrition & lack of self-reflection 'was hardly surprising – they are the hallmarks of the man. But his attempt to use this fiasco to paint himself as some kind of enlightened statesman, the country’s messiah, is beyond the pale.'

Putting aside the fact Emilia looks like a literal goddess, this is such a disgusting comment, especially from the boss of a company that has succeeded off the back of a program that required so much female nudity of its young actresses.

Attendees at the premiere of the Game of Throne sequel series House of the Dragon were shocked to hear the Foxtel CEO describe Emilia Clarke as a "short, dumpy girl" 👀 crikey.com.au/2022/08/17/fox

Trying to imagine how long a normal person would last in any job if they talked about their org's deputy leader like this in public. (Also curious to know how any women operate in the NSW gov given its apparently a 'man's job')

It is so hard to find a bulk billing doctor these days - such an important story. Claims by the former gov that most patients are being bulk-billed are “not honest”, the new federal health minister, says. ⁦⁩ ⁦

Australian gov used private security contractors to collect intelligence on asylum seekers on Nauru, singling out those who were speaking to journalists, lawyers & refugee advocates, internal documents from 2016 reveal. Great reporting by ⁦
