Of course, he blamed it on the agency using the wrong picture but were I running to be MP, I might take more than a passing interest in what my website looks like and I'd like to think I'd notice if it featured photographs of the wrong town.

So many other things, like the disastrous BBC Berkshire interview with Andrew Peach, the time he told me the solution to remainers receiving death threats was simply to support Brexit, the time he pretended not to understand metaphors to own the Libs

Morley is the sort of candidate the Tories select in safe, rural seats or seats they don't care about winning and Reading East is neither of those things so his selection was a bit of a catastrophic error on the part of the Reading Tories and we are all the better for it

I think Matt Rodda owes at least as much to Craig Morley as he does to his own activists in terms of driving voters into the red corner.

I believe I tweeted something similar last October about Craig being a terrible choice for Reading East by the Tories. To be clear, Matt's activists worked very hard too.

Oh yes, no doubt. I was more referring to the stories I'd heard of Morley and his team's terrible attitude on the doorstep to anyone who challenged them pretty much cementing voting intention in the opposite direction to what he intended.

Yes, that and 1/ his terrible message on climate change (which allowed him to be portrayed as a denier which he actually wasn't) 2/being a Johnson-type no-dealer (in Remain voting Reading East) and 3/ him not being local (exacerbated by the wrong abbey image on his website).

I think he was a social media train wreck too, and that really didn't help his campaign. I don't just mean on liberal Twitter: he also lost, e.g., Caversham Gossip Girls.
