I think Amazon should pay more tax but you can’t blame them for paying the least they can get away with. Do YOU pay a penny more tax than have to? Change the tax laws to make them pay more if you think they should be paying more.

@John31569. One assumes they are paying the correct amount of tax. If as your party suggests you will increase corporate tax rates, who do you think pays the additional cost on the business? -
I’m not even sure they are legally allowed to pay more tax voluntarily. There’s something in the Companies Act 2006 about Shareholder Primacy that I think stops them (but I’m no legal expert).

There is a Govt inquiry (on UTube) into the lack of Corporation tax not being paid. The question to them was, I buy in UK£, the goods come from UK warehouses, they are sent by UK post and I am billed by Amazon UK, yet the profit goes to Switzerland and no Corporation tax is paid.
