to clarify: i don't think marrying a 15 year old SHOULD be legal. a person this young is not able to make a well informed life decision like that and is most likely being taken advantage off by the older party. but words have meaning. using the wrong words distorts that meaning.
I'm not mad about Mathilda's advances (it's canon to her psychology) and Leon himself as a character might've not done anything "wrong" but the movie reeked of something off and I'm sure it wouldve been different if Luc besson could live out his fantasies without scrutiny of law

yeah the movie clearly has a romantic undertone and it explores that theme far enough to make the viewer a bit uncomfortable but stops just short of hurting the characters and the movie in general. left to his own devices (or possible just shooting the movie in france), luc 1/2

might have made the relationship more sexual and it would've hurt the movie so much. it would be one of many french forbidden love movies with a hitman twist and nothing else. so, thank god someone stopped luc from fucking that up. still no pedo though :p
