I'm fairly certain the classification of being NEET didn't stem from anime itself. I don't think that's a fair statement. People are classified as NEET in other countries, like the UK for example.

I used to enjoy weeb culture a lot more when I thought everyone else was being ironic but I got older and realized there's quite a lot of unhealthy habits and mind sets in it.

I thought the concept of neets was beyond just anime and started from those people who aren't doing anything with their lives (Not seeking Employment Education or Training)
