So democrats should abandon what they stand for and bow down to a few states,

The mistake is they try to hard to win the states they know they'll never win by avoiding taking a serious stand and let the republican label them with scary words like "socialist" When over 1/2 the states are already decided that's a problem

Okay, but while you're working on this, can we focus on winning in the system we have so we don't have to complain about another electoral college loss?
-
Problem is the states are so gerrymandered with voter suppression than when the GOP do lose power they pull stuff like they're doing now and strip the democrats of power and until that's challenged in courts nothing will change and with the right wing court lord knows

Since we can’t do that in 2 years, maybe we should focus on an educational campaign to help people understand how our government is supposed to work to control greed. We need election finance reform. Get money out of politics

that won't happen the flood gate is opened, we're closer to a plutocracy than a republic or democracy. Another failure by the "Great" ronald reagan

How come nobody was upset that Obama won because of the electoral college. That was just fine right?
-
Obama also got more votes - damn those facts..

That would allow 2 or 3 states w/highly populated area's to decide an election. The rest of the states might as well not vote if that's the case - drop the "united states" & be one big state, run by one party. You would think differently if Republicans controlled these areas.
-
No I wouldn't I think every vote should count

Tells you something that since 1992, the Republican presidential candidates have only won the popular vote once (2004). Time to eliminate the Electoral College.
-
and that was a sitting president who won reelection, if he had lost in 2000 he wouldn't have bee running again

While the Electoral College is no longer necessary & could easily be eliminated- but would require a Constitutional Convention - significant campaign finance reform & ending gerrymandering are more important AND more easily accomplished.
-
Wouldn't need convention - states can decide to split up their electoral college votes on % of popular vote (but southern states would never do that).
