Unfortunately, there’s a science experiment taking place in Florida with EVs and salty storm surge waters post-Ian. Saltwater can cause EVs to combust after exposure. It’s something government and the private sector needs to know for disaster planning. bit.ly/3COg8x9

This was a great segment! So much surprising info. Still a fan of older vehicles.
Salt water and my Ebike….. it exploded in my living room.

The caveat in the video regarding the safety of EV’s vs gasoline cars was carefully worded.

We’ve been warned not to park golf carts near our houses too. Batteries exploding.

Just as safe as gasoline powered cars except around salt water. Good thing nobody in the world lives near the ocean.

These cars are not inherently more dangerous. They just require more training for first responders, must be kept 50 feet away from everything, and require special, safe transportation to recycling facilities because they are inherently more dangerous.
