There’s a ton of EVs disabled from Ian. As those batteries corrode, fires start. That’s a new challenge that our firefighters haven’t faced before. At least on this kind of scale. #HurricaneIan

It takes special training and understanding of EVs to ensure these fires are put out quickly and safely. Thanks to for their hard work. #Hurricanelan

This can be extremely dangerous. Tesla has both a disconnect cable inside the hood for this AND an online resource for firefighters, but it’s doubtful many have been trained or even encountered this to be aware

...I'm sure someone will stick their hands under the hood of a burning car....🙄

Why? they'll make the news because Tesla's name is clickbait. People blame the new stuff always. Car companies were sued for cruise control when it was new. Granted, there's no shortage of people hoping they can blame the car for their accident.

It’s a terrible thing to learn the hard way. The upside is one never forgets and they tell everyone the story.
