I made the mistake of scrolling through Twitter feeds and there are people out there convinced the mainstream media didn't cover Bill Clinton's sex life & affairs the way they're covering Trump's. DID YOU NOT HAVE A TV IN THE '90S? The coverage was relentless.

I didn't have a tv during that time period and I still saw it.

I remember seeing a concert by this Canadian band when the Starr report was published, and at some point during the show the singer commented on it being in all the papers in the US and he said "What is *wrong* with you?" and we were all pretty embarrassed, tbh.

When the Starr report hit the internet, all work in every office in the country stopped.

Here’s the story I wrote for AP on Jan. 28, 1998, introducing the term “presidential knee pads” into the lexicon. It was in every paper in America and launched the Clinton Sanctimony Industrial Complex.http://www.southcoasttoday.com/article/19980128/NEWS/301289960 …

He got impeached for it too. They said, “if he can lie about this he can lie about anything”. Wow, little did we know what was coming...

I was a radio news reporter at that time... it's ALL we talked about, debated, argued...ad nauseam.

I believe the conservative take on that time period is the left didn't believe it until the dress, then it was considered no big deal because it was consensual. Not that it wasn't covered, it was. they just believe the left gave him a pass. hope that helps :)

Remember how the religious right thought Clinton’s affair was going to be the downfall of western civilization? Now the religious right thinks a person’s private affairs are no big deal; they have given Trump a “mulligan.”

Well... yanno... he asked god’s forgiveness... or some other religious mumbo jumbo. So, he’s all good now. No worries! Nothing to see here! Just keep bashing on the other religions, the lgbt, and anything else they don’t like.
