Agreed. It feels more likely that Mephisto, if involved at all, would be a post-credit Thanos type reveal for the future than, say, him showing up at the end of the penultimate episode and explaining who the hell (hah!) he is and why he cares about Wanda in the finale.https://twitter.com/rileyjsilverman/status/1358129641353998336 …

Yeah, we’re already over halfway thru the show and they haven’t teed him up at all, save for a single line about the devil. It’d feel so unearned. Like in any mystery, usually the answer was there all along from the beginning, so that would point to Agnes, maybe Dottie or Hayward

...being the villain instead of Mephisto. Also, he just seems a little too “out-there” and supernatural for the MCU. Not that the MCU can’t or shouldnt go in new directions, but it would be a huge leap into uncharted waters. We’ll see!

I feel like the MCU can GET there (they’ve gone to some wild places!) but it also feels like a massive thing to just suddenly veer into here without building into it for non-comics folks. Just, like, “Hey, here’s the fucking Devil!” Like maybe in a Thor or Strange movie first?
