Reading up on the legend of Robin Hood. He's like the first comic book character, where his origin continually gets tweaked by different writers, retcons, supporting characters added so much later you can't imagine the saga without them. But the staples have always been there.pic.twitter.com/p6k6Lke5pl

For example, several modern versions have leaned into Robin being a former crusader (or being set during the time of Richard III) and adding a Saracen character. But it was the '80s show Robin of Sherwood that 1st did that. The rest have ripped it off without credit.pic.twitter.com/91ev9K8SiZ

Replying to @JimVejvoda
The 1950's show had him as a crusader as well. Grew up watching it. Regardless of that, there are texts and pictures as early as 1500 that place robin hood as a Crusader and mounted yeoman. Like King Aruthur before him, his legends have changed drastically to what we have now.

I think the Richard Greene show is on Disney+ so I will definitely watch that after my re-watch of Robin of Sherwood. :)
