All these "franchise fatigue" stories. There hasn't been a MIB or Shaft movie in years so it's not like they're relentlessly in the public eye. Both were really bad movies that even the trailers couldn't hide. Ppl may like those actors but the trailers screamed "wait for Netflix"

I wonder why it took so long to make a sequel to Sammy Jackon's "Shaft" from 2000? 20 years is too long!

To be fair, the original Shaft is from the 1971.

People just need to make better movies.

There just wasn’t a hook for either film. “Men in Black got a little bit sexier but it won’t be as funny” isn’t going to drive people into the theater. Neither is “Shaft got old and out touch and also it’s not an action movie anymore.”

True. MIB International didn’t have a unique story and shaft seen like it been advertised into a comedy.
