Why Disney's Star Wars movie 'slowdown' is a win for fans. http://www.ign.com/articles/2018/09/21/why-disney-and-bob-igers-star-wars-movie-slowdown-is-a-win-for-fans …pic.twitter.com/T7nD8tNmE7

Most of these arguments, besides nostalgia, seem moot considering Marvel released three movies in 2018 less than four months apart: with two of them being huge $$makers/critically acclaimed.

All of the “BITD we had to wait THREE years for new SW” and “there were only four movies between 1977-1999 and we’ve had four since 2015 nowadays!” That doesn’t matter when Marvel calls BS and releases 3 quality films in less than 4 months

It does matter because they are different properties. Obviously, even Disney thinks a wait is good since that is precisely the approach they're taking to SW going ahead

Star Wars is a different animal than Marvel. There is more differentiation between MCU movies (Guardians is way different Cap, etc) You can even say they're different genres. My feelings are that we wont see a post Ep.9 movie until Dec. 2021, and the alternate with Avatar sequels

And that’s what’s best for Disney. But throwing down the “too soon/too many films too close together” is weak when Marvel releases three in four months. Props to Disney for righting the SW ship, and they truly need more development time. But marvel shows it can be done
