Not once do these inconceivably rich people make cuts at the top, when their bonus payouts alone could fund the development of new games. It’s not even crossing their minds to cut their executive costs. No, they’ll always make cuts to game development instead.
This is what gets me about the “aggressive monetization is fine because it funds new games” crowd. It doesn’t. It only fills the pockets of the shitflingers at the top. Not once has this monetization stopped budget cuts and layoffs. Makes for some killer exec bonuses though.
