Is the BBC’s desperation to ‘both-sides’ everything: A) terrible journalism by accident B) conscious pro-tory bias brought about by terrible hiring practises C) fear that if they don’t cosy up to the conservative government, the BBC will be gutted/abolished ?

I haven’t seen a huge amount of both-siding around charges of antisemitism, and there’s more than enough easily available material on the Tories for them to have done so. Even the odd attempt to bring Islamophobia into the balance has been pretty half-hearted.

And 88% of Tory voters will not care, they want to win regardless of the cost. They don't want to live in a world of facts. For a group bent on screaming "snowflake" every 10 seconds, they love being wrapped up in cotton wool & absorbing only what they want to hear a lot.

At least the saving grace of a Tory majority is the BBC getting stripped of its assets piece by piece until it’s a failing private broadcaster. Without the BBC’s impartiality as an incentive, I really couldn’t care what happens to it at this point, and that’s entirely their fault
