    Cancer is financially toxic in the US unlike almost anywhere else. Cancer patients have almost triple the rate of bankruptcies of others the same age. And those who go bankrupt have a higher death rate.

    This analysis is dead on. I reviewed this paper and wrote the commentary. I didn’t support publication but my concerns did not slow down the runaway train. My first version of the commentary came back with a comment to make it more positive. Argh.

    I remember doing it in journal club back in the day. Huge issues. Also, who’s to say the transplant from the lean mice didn’t make the recipients sick, causing them to fail to gain wieght. Should have been reproduced in way more cohorts and showing the raw data.
