This chart shows the timeline of storm tides at the Univ. of Miami's Rosenstiel School, beginning in 1951 when the waterfront campus was established. All storms that produced a >2' NAVD88 storm tide are shown, as is the increasing baseline sea level upon which storm surges act.

Pretty strong signal we end April on the colder side in the northern eastern USA. Most others will be at or near normal temperatures. This is good for snowmelt as it keeps it in check. Just hard on those anxiously awaiting permanent warmth.

Troughs like this moving into the PNW keep temperatures from staying super warm for long periods and eventually crank up the storminess in the Plains and east. This one will do exactly that as it trickles in w/a few pieces. Some severe storms start late today with a Hail risk.

Here's another look at the evolution of a severe warned cumulonimbus near San Antonio Saturday night. This is the same storm from the pic in my previous tweet.

Time lapse of severe storms earlier this evening across Bastrop and Fayette Counties, as well as across Atascosa County, looking from our tower cam in New Braunfels. Explosive updrafts to the storms can be seen as a result of extremely unstable conditions aloft in the atmosphere.

Snowy, slippery roads along with areas of blowing and drifting snow and low visibility have been reported in parts of central and north-central WI. Moderate to heavy snow will persist here through the morning commute. Drive with caution and remain alert for changes. #wiwx
