If only you could have taken that 20 billion spend on SLS and given it to SpaceX. SLS will be obsolete by 2021.

It might be ready by 2030 but next year SpaceX will launch a test vehicle which won’t even ferry crew- & musks timeline for crew is beyond laughable. He can’t even get D2 to fly & yet expects a vastly larger vehicle to be ready. Not to mention in its current state it’s dangerous.

Well, the program has been in development since 2011 so its 13 years total. The original Apollo program took 8 years from Kennedy's speech to the actual landing.

Full speed to give more money to Boeing and Lockheed.Already 18 billion dollar spent and more at a very fast rate.Boeing is compensating of airplane crash profit with SLS contract.

So what? Going to different celestial bodies isn’t cheap and we need to get back to it. We could have built a fleet of sls rockets for the cost of the f35 program. Nasa spends a tiny fraction of our budget and does great work. This wasn’t their decesion, blame Congress not nasa
