Speaking as a millenial, part of "Ok boomer" is that we're realizing more and more that there's no fucking point in trying to reason with many (not all) people of that generation, and that we just need them to get the hell out of the way. And that says more about them than us.

We don't have to be. We can take knowledge of what it's like to be stuck in a rut with an older generation, then use that to push for progress. Why do we have to be like that when we age?
-
That's my point, granted this is a take as old as time so ultimately I imagine we will be doomed to be the Boomers of our day.

There were many think pieces in the 90s about lazy & "meh" GenX, but you had to read newspapers/books to see them. More info now isn't going to help nor hinder bc the generation gap btwn old & young is the *only* factor. Happens almost like... clockwork.

I think information is ultimately neutral. It's more easily available but so to is bad information. And that breeds apathy as people ultimately have to still forge a worldview. And it's easier to just not.

Yes they will. Why wouldn't they?
-
Because you'd hope we can address the reasons we are quickly dismissing "The Boomers" with those who come after us.

They capitalized on every social advantage in the wealthiest of nations while wrecking the planet. They act like a younge people crushed by student debt are lazy & should now clean up their mess over the next century. We all age, but we can clearly do better than these folks.

This. THIS is the thing I've been saying for a long time now. In thirty years another generation will be coming up that will loathe millennials every bit as much as millennials loathe boomers. Thus has it been since forever. There is nothing new under the sun.
