I took a bit of parental leave when my kid was born. I took some ribbing from dudes, but no regrets. We got to bond with each other, and it was the happiest, and sleepiest, time of my life.

Queer myself, and not ok with the disgust (‘Eww’), but Buttigieg *is* gay. And, IIRC, studies have shown that outcomes for children with same-sex parents are at least slightly better than for children with opposite-sex parents. Most gay men I know are extremely dedicated fathers.
