Conservatives often state that people shouldn't have children that they can't afford. Then they turn around and get outraged at people who have too few children because they don't want to have children that they can't afford.

When we decided that making babies, taking the time to take good care of them was delegated to the "private sphere" and not worthy of economic renumeration even though it was producing the next work force they lost all right to comment.
-
With our planet dying, making less babies is a good thing. Maybe we should take care of the babies that are already alive first...

Every modern society that educates women sees a reduction in the number of births nationally. This is the result of giving women power over their reproductive rights and able to make an educated choice. There is no mystery as to why developed nations have a lower berth rate.
-
Those societies also tend to make having that child an extremely poor choice on top of that. And its in no businesses interest to make it a better choice, so they have no motivation to solve such an issue.

Weve all seen where things that are "good for the economy" get us. Frankly, I read this as "bad for stock holders and their unrealistic ideas and wants." American families and communities will be largely unaffected by a slower birthrate.
