Exactly. I was driven to run for office by that non-profit experience. We can keep providing charity that will never be enough or we can do the work to change the conditions that create the need for it in the first place.

I get ur point, but I’ve worked in the non-profit sector for over a decade, & tax breaks for charitable giving are crucial. People aren’t altruistic enough to give w/out benefit to themselves so we are tasked with solving important social issues, often on a shoe string budget
