Let me be clear: I understand that small businesses are struggling to pay the bills and need relief. But that relief shouldn't come at the expense of workers.

This aid package was flawed from the start. Small businesses needed more than a weak payroll replacement. Workers needed direct aid. And what they got was a toothless aid package that left everyone except megacorporations high and dry.

We need a
#PeoplesBailout that actually gets aid to those who need it most. We need rent, mortgage, and loan cancellation. And we need elected officials who work for US, not their corporate donors.Show this thread

Yep. Giving money to the people and the workers is the only way we will find out what businesses are essential. But let’s not do that, let’s give it to the owners instead.

I support you
@JessforDelaware but my small business needed rent support more than payroll protection. My one p/t employee qualified me for $300/rent from PPP when I needed $10k+. What good is covering payroll when you lose your biz? They should have dealt with both, separately. -
I understand where you're coming from and agree that they should have dealt with both separately.
