If we don't start making college free and forgiving debt, college attendance is going to crash with the next generation when it's parents in debt. Who can pay off their own education and then a kid's when a bachelors can cost six figures?
You're right. I talk to people who struggle every month to afford their own student loans and child care for their kids. If we don't fix it, the ability to pay will become an even bigger barrier to education and it will only be accessible to the wealthy.
According to the Republicans this will spell disaster. They tell us that getting a handout causes a loss of work ethic. What will we do when every college grad is a person who got a huge free handout from their parents?
