Today I spoke to 3 people struggling because of college loans. The debt prevents the life they thought college would help create. They can't afford homes, kids, or cars. Student debt is crushing a generation & not even bankruptcy or death forgives it. Cancel student debt.
The narrative that students with debt should have picked better majors to get higher paying jobs is bogus. For one, education is valid no matter whether it leads to wealth. Two, the loans are predatory and people pay thousands of dollars only to owe more than they borrowed.
The burden of education belongs on society, not the individual. When we educate ourselves we all benefit.
There are so many young people that got screwed by the college loans. They were totally overcharged and promised false hopes. Jobs aren’t paying enough to pay them back. Just another money grab, to keep them down.
