Today, I phonebanked for @JessforDelaware, who’s challenging Chris Coons. Almost every person I talked to today supported Medicare for All, and Delawareans deserve a Senator that supports it.https://www.delawareonline.com/story/opinion/contributors/2020/04/18/delaware-shouldnt-welcome-return-normal/5149656002/ …

We don't want Socialism, and Medicare for All is larger than our WHOLE economy in cost.

Our GDP is $21 trillion. Each year, $3.8T of that is healthcare spending. Medicare for All would cost $3.3T. That's why it saves us $450 billion a year. It's not larger than the economy and it's smaller than our current spend. Also, it's what we just spent on corporate bailouts.

Obamacare did NOT cover everyone. Medicare for ALL would cover everyone, so it would be much MORE than $3.3 T. The estimates range from $13.5 T to $47.6 T. The variables include the generosity of the benefit and forecasts for reining in health care expenditures. Get your facts.

The numbers you are referencing are estimates of costs over 10 years. I know that because they come from the article below that specifically says 10-year estimates. So, if you want to compare them to GDP, divide by 10 first. https://www.managedcaremag.com/archives/2019/12/so-how-much-would-medicare-all-really-cost-good-question …
