Our leaders have failed us by not having transition plans yet. We need plans now for how we stabilize workers’ lives in the short term and wind down production and transition them in the long term.

Yes, and it's in part because the industry was already on the edge of survival mode before the pandemic. We know where bailouts go and it's not to workers. If we talk transition instead, we can ensure workers are kept whole.
