COBRA is prohibitively expensive. It cost me $700+ a month. The Worker Health Coverage Protection Act would cover 100% of those costs for laid off workers. Of course, this doesn't cover everyone.
If your employer didn't offer insurance.
If you have a marketplace plan, but now can't afford it.
If you get COBRA subsidies to keep your plan, but still can't afford the deductible or the bills.
This is why we fight for #MedicareForAll.
