I don't see how Coons and the others can see the dire situation so many of us are in and go "yeah, we should compromise a bit to make this slightly better". Americans are *so far behind* where we should be with regard to standard of living and justice. We need huge leaps.

And what I don't think Coons or others seem to notice, or care about, is that Republicans are vicious and efficient in their deception. We're dealing with a party that wants no oversight, locks up kids, is racist, and doesn't care if people die. To hell with compromising.
