The Senator’s position boils down to this:
Parents can pay for college? Cool, go debt-free.
Parents can’t pay for college? Yikes, sorry you have to EARN the right to go debt-free.
Unlike him, I don’t think the ability to pay should be a barrier to education.

I'm glad he wasn't around when we decided to make K-12 "free". It's not about free anything. It's about investing in PEOPLE to make a stronger society.

The idea that you should have to "earn" something that is a human right, is absolutely absurd. Does
@ChrisCoonsforDE think that things like the minimum wage should be "earned"? Rights like these are inherent because you're a human being They shouldn't be predicated on merit.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Absolutely sickening. ‘Risk your life, then I’ll consider giving you a education’ that’s what he wants to represent our party

In my Junior year at UDel Dr. Guy Alchon asked our class the question "Since we pay taxes, shouldn't we expect something in return that actually benefits us?" (paraphrased) At that moment it clicked and I became a progressive. Sen. Coons never learned this lesson.
