This shooting happened about 10 blocks from my house, and it was the second shooting by police in this neighborhood in 2019.

It’s been 4 months since we’ve heard anything about the police shooting of Ricardo Hylton in Wilmington. We still have no clear picture of what happened that night. In just the last year I’ve personally seen police abuse their power by harassing a black man waiting at the bus stop with me, responding with 3 SUVs to reports of a “suspicious black man” in my neighborhood, and arresting a man asking for money.
