The EPA knows ethylene oxide causes reproductive issues, respiratory irritation, memory loss, and cancer. One of the census tracts in New Castle sits right at the EPA’s upper limit of acceptable risk of cancer: 100 per million people.https://twitter.com/theintercept/status/1207647172486934529 …

The plant causing that risk blanketed New Castle and the Del. Memorial Bridge in a cloud of toxic gas last year and then flooded the surrounding area with 700k gallons of contaminated water used to prevent explosion.

The plant was allowed to reopen last month after paying $246k to resolve violations and $143k in lost revenue for the bridge. Who is paying for the health issues and loss of life we know this toxic gas will cause? We can’t keep letting these companies poison us and our planet.
