My time in nonprofits showed me this.
There should not HAVE to be private orgs making sure we get our basic needs met 
the govt should be doing this already.
If we had well-funded social programs, we wouldn't need the vast majority of these orgs in the 1st place.
The current system is flawed because we shouldn't have to rely on the whims of billionaires to get our basic needs met.

THAT BEING SAID, so many nonprofits are doing vital work in our communities. Until we can make our govt do its job, please support and donate to orgs that are doing the work of our government.
Drop a reply of a nonprofit that you believe is fighting the good fight. 
Donations to our & other progressive campaigns are of course welcome. But there are dozens of crises that simply can't wait a year for favorable election results.
