    this is so wildly brazen. is trying to use an FTC suit about their monopoly abuses of competitive data to subpoena millions of sensitive confidential documents from all their rivals. like, literally every document related to monetization or growth from the last 12 years.

    In a new court filing, Snap, Pinterest, Twitter, LinkedIn, Match Group, Reddit and Oracle say the broad info Facebook wants in discovery in its case against the FTC is "stunning" and they want to ensure FB employees won't have access to the documents.

    not great!

    On 8/12/17, one of the neo-Nazi groups behind Unite the Right posted photos of the previous night’s violent tiki torch march on Facebook. Rather than remove the post, FB sent the group an autogenerated email encouraging them to turn it into a paid FB ad to "reach more people."

    these decisions are so complex, but don't just blatantly lie about them, man. FB was carrying out Kremlin censorship demands til 3 weeks ago! they're *still* running CCP propaganda ads. you were a Google policy exec when Google tried to build a whole CCP-censored search engine!

    Pretty interesting contrast in approaches: FB: Gets banned by Russia b/c it refuses to censor or comply with bogus "fake news" law Tiktok: Complies w/ Russian order, voluntarily blocks non-Russian content...leaving more room for pro-Kremlin propaganda

    Twitter banned ads from RT and Sputnik in 2017 after U.S. intelligence concluded they were used by Russia to interfere in our elections. Facebook and YouTube did not ban ads from RT and Sputnik until two weeks ago. Big Tech's actions must also be weighed against their inaction.

    Exclusive from me: China’s state-owned CGTN is buying ads to run in FB, mostly newscasts sprinkled with pro-Russia talking points.
