is brilliant. Here’s a panel on prison closures where he drops science from his research on ALL prisons built in the US since the country’s founding. There are so many misconceptions about prison towns. His work dispels many of them.

I disagree w/way many folks are dunking on Lauren Farrell’s UI post. Anyone who’s worked/researched in low-income/minority communities shld recognize the issues she’s trying to address. Does our work address issues important to ppl we study? Are we listening+respectful partners?

Is this a policy of the Urban Institute? Does it apply to its researchers? To the Tax Policy Center? A well-run organization doesn't let individual policy analysts make broad announcements about how research must be conducted, especially if bizarre. urban.org/urban-wire/equ
