I rarely ascribe intentions to bad reporting. Few news orgs set-out to mislead the public. But a CBC radio report just described a convoy of trucks heading to Ottawa as a movement "with one simple message..Pipelines". Not 1 mention of #YellowVestsCanada or anti-immigrant activism
This report, combined with Wednesday's torqued @CBCTheNational story , suggest an active editorial decision to launder and legitimize #YellowVestsCanada by @CBCNews . It's bizarre, as Canadian Yellow Vests violently loathe the CBC.
The National interviewed one of our admins for 40 minutes, and didn't use anything from said interview.
Yet they went to a bar and gave air time to a hate group.

There really is really no other conclusion that I can draw from such reporting other than bad intentions or very irresponsible reporting, Please do better @cbcradio, healthy journalism is more vital than ever.
The vast majority are not anti-immigrant. They want Canada in charge of it's own immigration policy instead of the U.N. They want a return to orderly, vetted immigration rather than the disaster we have now at Roxham Road. Are people not allowed to discuss these things anymore?
Canada is in charge of it's own immigration. The UN policy is non-binding.
Paris Accord was non-binding and now provinces have a carbon tax being forced on them. You don't sign things unless you intend to go along with it.
But they're still decisions being made my Canadian lawmakers, not the UN. The UN isn't in charge of either policy, Canada is.
I’m in Calgary and did hear an interview yesterday on CBC where one of the convoy spokesmen was asked directly about the yellow vest movement and immigration. I believe it was on @CBCEyeopener .
He mentioned the migration compact “needing to be investigated” and a bunch of other alt-right garbage.
I heard that too. He began by saying "we're not racist" which was followed by "but..." and then a bunch of nonsense about the UN telling Canada what people we have to let in. And yes, he repeated several times that the migration compact needs to be investigated.
Is anyone covering the Yellow Vests in Canada? It feels like the media in general is downplaying the xenophobia and hate because Canadians are “not” supposed to be those things.
