New iOS feature allows access to phone contacts with no authentication required. I’m interested in how this shipped after Apple’s renewed quality focus... 😕 It seems like something a formal test program would find? Interested in your thoughts.

It _seems_ like you would map every user flow, iterate across every interaction possibility. Or is that too exponential? How is this supposed to be discovered by testing?

Apple seems to have a systemic issue around iOS lock screen functionality and their security. Accessing a locked phone’s photos is a nightmare scenario for many people. Why is this so regular?

This is a god damn disaster. This is completely unacceptable. How is Apple so good at the bottom of the stack and their higher tiers are continually failing in basic ways.

Want to see a really bad bug? You can FaceTime any iOS device running 12.1 and listen in remotely—WITHOUT THE OTHER PERSON ANSWERING THE CALL. (via @bzamayo) 9to5mac.com/2019/01/28/fac

I just replicated the issue - on top of that, if you “join” the call using your invitation on another device (in this case another iPhone) you also get video!! Even though the call is still ringing / not answered on the destination device.
